These motors have several new features compared to the previous BBS01B motors, such as additional connections for direct gear sensor input and 6V out lighting power.
The supplied display is model 850C (DPC-14) colour display including advanced features.
Suitable for converting over 90% of bicycles already on UK roads into an E-bike.
Powers directly from the cranks, so the majority of the bicycle remains unchanged.
Bike rides as normal when power is switched off without the drag, weight or resistance that can be associated with hub motors.
Considered superior to hub drive systems, especially for hill climbing, torque and efficiency, they are arguably the best way to maximise the 250 Watt continuous power rating limit allowed in the UK to qualify as an EAPC.
Pedal assistance is set to cease at 15.6 mph (25kph), the UK maximum assist speed limit for EAPCs. (Increased max. assist speed for off-road private land use, or use in countries where the law differs is possible from display settings).
Select from up to 9 gradually increasing levels of assistance and throttle boost depending on the terrain/winds.
Please note: Altering the controller programme settings may result in damage to the motor and/or controller and would be performed solely at the owner's risk. No manufacturer's warranty will cover damage caused as a consequence.

Unlike most E-bike systems produced up until now that would power from the wheel hub, the Bafang MM G340.250 (BBS01B) powers from the cranks. This provides high torque power directly at the final drive (the cranks), meaning the rider benefits from motor power through all of the gears at the rear wheel.
Equally, a mid-drive lowers and centres the bike's centre of gravity making the ride feel more stable and controlled. Mid-drive is fast becoming the favoured choice for a lot of off-road and hilly commuter bikes.
